Lady Welthie's Gardener Denies!
Detective Flowers arrested the Welthie gardener upon finding the necklace in his shed. However, when our reporter Rob talked to Gardner, he got no response but "it wasn't me, I didn't put it there" over and over...
You suspected Gardner!
"I want to see where you keep your tools."
Gardner looks at you quizzically. "Of course."
You inspect the bushes outside the shed. Nothing. You go inside and check one of the boxes, going through various types of shears and...pliers?
"That's not mine." He frowns. Your finger brushes something sharp in the box.
"Agh!"
You look in to find shards of broken glass inside the box. Gardner goes pale upon seeing the blood on your hands.
"I'll fetch a bandage..." he runs off.
You stuff your hand in the pocket of your coat, and with the other, struggle to open another box. It's not too heavy, but you accidentally drop it on it's side while taking of the lid. Its contents fall out. Something gleaming catches your eye.
A necklace, laden with jewels that shone in the dim sunlight that shone through the shed.
Gardner...
He comes back, holding bandages. His gaze falls to the shining necklace on the floor.
"That's...Lady Welthie's..."
