Hi, I'm rgbhsl!

I'm an amateur programmer from Pakistan. I'm pretty inexperienced, but I hope to learn more and more. I know HTML and CSS somewhat well (no Javascript yet, sadly), and I'm learning Python, SQL and LaTeX. I like Computer Science, and I really want to learn more advanced languages in the future. My goal is to learn C or C++.

About Me

Languages: UR (native), EN (C1), DE (A2)

I natively speak Urdu and grew up learning English. I know a small amount of German. I am also trying to learn more languages, such as Russian. I've learnt how to read Cyrillic, however, I still have a very limited vocabulary.

Subjects: Maths, Physics, Computer Science, Sociology

I am highly interested in maths and physics, and I love learning new concepts! I took Computer Science out of necessity, but I find myself enjoying it more as I learn. Sociology is not one of my main subjects. I took it because I've studied it before, but WOW is there a lot of writing.

Hobbies: chess, art, research

I like both digital and traditional art! I like to draw freehand with pens; it's good just to doodle or make a more detailed quick sketch.

I love chess!

I love playing and learning about chess. I'm not that good yet, but I want to get better. Above is an animation of the Knight's Tour puzzle solution from Wikipedia. The Knight's Tour is a very famous puzzle, and I first found out about it when I was really new to chess. I was unable to solve it back then, but now I understand the concept.

My favorite opening: Vienna Gambit

I learnt this online, and it's been my favorite opening since. I also really like the Italian Game.

My favorite variant: Antichess

It's fun to blunder your pieces intentionally.

My favorite chess piece: Knight

I like the others as well but the Knight is more fun because it can jump over pieces.

My favorite time control: Anything without increment, since it makes the game too long.

I play online and in local tournaments sometimes. My online Elo rating is about 1100 (can go upto 1200 on good days and drop to 900 on bad ones). I really want to improve and get to at least 2000!

My Projects

I haven't done much work in computer science so far. I've made some simple websites with HTML and CSS before. Currently, I'm trying to make a game with Python. I've made many games before in Scratch, but I want to improve my coding skills in other languages as well!
